A Message from Amy Bond: Why I Closed Our Norwalk Location and What Lies Ahead

To My Friends & Faithful Customers,

As I sit down to write this, my heart is full of gratitude and reflection. Painted Cowgirl Western Store has been a significant part of my life for the past 17 years, and every decision I’ve made has been with you—our loyal customers and community—in mind. The past year has brought many changes, and one of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make was closing our Norwalk location. Today, I want to share the heartfelt reasons behind this decision and tell you more about our journey and the exciting future of Painted Cowgirl.

Where It All Began

Painted Cowgirl Western Store was born in Greenwich, Ohio, in a small building on my farm. Raised on a horse farm where my dad was a trainer, breeder, and APHA judge, I grew up immersed in the western lifestyle. After I lost my Daddy in 2006, I opened Painted Cowgirl Tack in his honor—a small tack store with just 800 square feet of space. Those early days were humbling but filled with passion, and over time, we grew into something truly special.

Four years later, we moved into an old brick building in downtown Greenwich on US 224. That move was a turning point, expanding our offerings into boots, apparel, and accessories. Greenwich has always been the heart and soul of Painted Cowgirl—it’s where our roots are, and it’s where we’ve flourished into the store you know today.

Balancing Life and Work

The decision to close our Norwalk location came after a very personal and challenging time in my life. Finalizing my divorce earlier this year made me take a hard look at how much was on my plate, and I realized I needed to find a better balance between my personal life and my work. Running two locations was a tremendous amount of work, and as much as I loved serving our Norwalk customers, it became clear that I had to focus on what mattered most—my family, my well-being, and giving Painted Cowgirl the attention it deserves.

Life is too short not to enjoy it, and I made this decision so that I could pour my heart into my Greenwich location and still have time to enjoy the moments that matter. Closing Norwalk was not an easy choice, but it was necessary to ensure that I can continue to give you the best experience possible while also creating space for balance in my personal life.

The Heart of Painted Cowgirl: Greenwich, Ohio

Our Greenwich location is where Painted Cowgirl started, and it will continue to be our home for many years to come. Merging the Norwalk store back into our original Greenwich location has been an incredible journey, and I can’t express how grateful I am for your unwavering support throughout this transition. Your loyalty and encouragement have meant everything to me, and I’m truly excited for what lies ahead.

We’ve expanded our Greenwich store to offer over 7,000 square feet of fresh inventory! If you haven’t yet visited, I encourage you to stop in and explore all we have to offer across our four storefronts. From men’s and women’s boots and apparel in the Main Store to our Kid’s Store, Work Wear Store, and Hat & Accessory Store—complete with a full-service hat bar—we’ve created a shopping destination that I know you’ll love.

A Heartfelt Thank You

To each and every one of you, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support over the years has meant the world to me. The closure of the Norwalk store wasn’t easy, but your understanding and kindness have made all the difference. Painted Cowgirl has grown because of you, and it’s your loyalty that keeps us moving forward.

A Very Exciting Future

While we’re closing one chapter, the future of Painted Cowgirl is brighter than ever. I have some exciting surprises in store—new collections, exclusive brands, and special events that I can’t wait to share with you. There’s so much to look forward to, and I hope you’ll visit us in Greenwich to see all the new arrivals and experience the best of what we have to offer.

Thank you again for being such an important part of this journey. I look forward to seeing you in Greenwich and continuing this adventure together.

With love and gratitude,
Amy Bond
